There’s every reason to expect it’ll do just as well on consoles, with Warner amping up the hype by revealing the game’s voice cast, which includes Simon Pegg as headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black.

Although Hogwarts Legacy is characterised as a Harry Potter role-playing game it’s set in the 1890s and so will only feature a limited number of familiar characters.

Phineas was in the movies though – Dumbledore speaks to his portrait in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix – and has always been characterised as Hogwarts’ least popular headmaster.

Hopefully that means Pegg will be hamming it up appropriately, although the visual look of the character doesn’t seem to be based on him.

The rest of the voice cast aren’t as well known but Sebastian Croft was in Heartstopper and Amelia Gething starred as Anne Brontë in the movie Emily. They’ll be voicing the customisable character you play as, depending on which voice option you choose.

Other roles include Downton Abbey’s Lesley Nicol as deputy headmistress professor Matilda Weasley, Kandace Caine as Divination teacher Professor Onai, and Sohm Kapila as Professor of Astronomy Satyavati Shah.

Although the game is out on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on February 10, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions won’t launch until April 4, and the Nintendo Switch version not until July 25.
